SUMMARY:October 24 – Holiday Gift Bag Assembly Day at Harvard Unitarian Universalist Church
DESCRIPTION:The Holiday Gift Bag Project is Concord Prison Outreach’s largest Beyond the Walls initiative. For decades\, CPO has sponsored and provided a simple\, useful gift bag to incarcerated people in Massachusetts state prisons. Each bag contains toiletries\, a pocket calendar\, and a greeting card. While these may seem like simple gifts\, each bag is a reminder that people “beyond the walls” see their humanity and care about them during the difficult holiday season. \nThis year\, we’re gifting 3\,500 holiday gift bags across 5 locations: Northeastern Correctional Center\, North Central Correctional Institute\, MCI-Framingham\, MCI-Shirley\, and Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center.  \nVolunteers are needed on Saturday\, October 24\, at the Harvard Unitarian Universalist Church (9 Ayer Rd\, Harvard\, MA 01451) to help assemble bags from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. \nRestoring Dignity\, Building Hope: \nAlong with volunteering\, you can extend the impact of this project by sponsoring the cost of holiday gift bags.
